HUMAN NATURE

There is much in our nature that perplexes us. Many people are disturbed as they confront the troubling riddle of their own existence. They are bewildered by their proneness to sin and evil. They quake and tremble at the thought of their inability to cope with their own lives.
Christ can give you satisfying answers to such questions as “Who am I?” “Why was I born?” “What am I doing here?” “Where am I going?” All of the great questions of life can be measured when you come by faith to Jesus Christ and receive Him as your Lord. Let Him be your Pilot. He can take away the worry from your life.

Verse
Who so trusteth in the Lord, happy is he.
—Proverbs 16:20

Prayer
I trust You, Lord, to control my life. Knowing You will guide me in the right path gives me joy.
Billy Graham

GOD MADE YOU

God made you! You were fashioned in His own image! You were made in the image and likeness of the Creator. God had a purpose in making you. His primary purpose is that you would have fellowship with Him. If man does not have fellowship with God, he is lost, confused, and bewildered. Since he does not find his place, he has a sense of not fitting. There are thousands of people who admit and confess that they are unhappy. Economic security, recreation, pleasure, and a good community in which to live have not brought about the peace and happiness that they expected. The reason is that man was created in the image of God and cannot find complete rest, happiness, joy, and peace until he comes back to God.

Verse
Our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.
—1 John 1:3

Prayer
Help me this day, Father, to tell others of the fellowship that can be theirs. Your love will enable me.
Billy Graham

DO YOU KNOW GOD?

Unless God is revealed to us through personal experience, we can never really know God. Most of us know about God, but that is quite different from knowing God. We learn about God through the agencies of the church, the Sunday school, the youth activities, the worship services. Many people stop in their quest for God at this point. It is one thing to be introduced to a person, but quite another thing to know him personally.

Verse
I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
—John 10:14

Prayer
Lord, You are, indeed, the good Shepherd, who leads me each day. Help me to love and know You more deeply so that others may be drawn into Your fold.
Billy Graham

WE ARE NOT ALIKE

We ought to be fully aware that in the body of Christ we are not interested in the production of “cookie-cutter” Christians. This is a word of caution in the matter of Christian experience: there is no pattern or formula for identical Christian experiences. It is actually a tragic thing for believers to try to be exactly like each other in their Christian faith and life. I have probably been overly cautious about testifying to my own experiences because I do not want anyone to be tempted to try to copy anything the Lord has done for me. God has given each of us an individual temperament and distinct characteristics. Therefore, it is the office of the Holy Spirit to work out as He will the details of Christian experience. They will vary with personality. Of this we may be sure: whenever a person truly meets God in faith and commitment to the gospel, he will have a consciousness and a sharp awareness of the details of that spiritual transaction!

Verse

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works. Ephesians 2:10

Thought

It is the office of the Holy Spirit to work out as He will the details of Christian experience.

Prayer

Lord, You made me to be something special, and I love You for nurturing me and growing me to be just what You want. Mold me and make me after Your will. Amen.

A MORAL PRONOUNCEMENT

What is God saying to His human creation in our day and time? In brief, He is saying, “Jesus Christ is My beloved Son. Hear Him!” Why is there rejection? Why do men and women fail to listen?Because God’s message in Jesus is a moral pronouncement. Men and women do not wish to be under the authority of the moral Word of God! For centuries, God spoke in many ways. He inspired holy men to write portions of the message in a book. People do not like it so they try their best to avoid it because God has made it the final test of all morality, the final test of all Christian ethics.God, being one in His nature, is always able to say the same thing to everyone who hears Him. Christian believers must know that any understanding of the Word of God must come from the same Spirit who provided the inspiration!

Verse

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path … I will keep thy righteous judgments.Psalm 119:105-106

Thought

Christian believers must know that any understanding of the Word of God must come from the same Spirit who provided the inspiration!

Prayer

Lord, I submit myself to Your moral authority, and I pray that holiness will be the product of my morality.
